The much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been kicked off between two cricketing powerhouses India and Australia. Both teams are locking horns in the first four-match Test series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The visitors’ skipper Pat Cummins won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first.
Although, his decision looked to be backfired as both the openers Usman Khawaja and David Warner got dismissed on the team’s total score of only 2 runs in 2.1 overs. Apart from that, the senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami stunned everyone by uprooting the off-stump in the dismissal of the veteran southpaw David Warner on a completely unplayable delivery in the first ball of the third over in the first innings.
Shami bowled it on a length outside the off stump and it went past the inside edge of David Warner’s willow. The video of this dismissal is now making rounds on social media and fans are also left awestruck by the bowling excellence of Mohammed Shami. Speaking of the action of the match at the moment, Australia has lost two wickets on the score of 54 runs in 22.4 overs having Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith there in the middle. Smith scored 30 runs alongside Labuschagne who is batting on 14 runs when filling this copy.
Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj scalped a wicket each for India so far whereas Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have been very economical so far for the hosts.
