Prithvi Shaw managed to make his way back into the team in style. He was rewarded for his hard work and consistent performance with a ticket to team India’s tour of Sri Lanka. The 21-year-old responded to his India call-up for the Sri Lanka tour with a post on Instagram.

After he was dropped from the Indian Test team during the Australian tour, he worked tirelessly on his technique. His hard work was rewarded with a chance to play for India in the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka.

Prithvi Shaw became the first batsman to score more than 800 runs in the Vijay Hazare trophy

Prithvi Shaw his rhythm back in the Vijay Hazare trophy when he scored 827 runs. His stint included three centuries and a double hundred which helped Mumbai win the trophy. In the process, he became the first batsman to cross the 800 runs mark in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare trophy.

After his impressive performance in the Vijay Hazare trophy, he continued his scoring speer in the IPL 2021. He was the opening batsman for Delhi Capitals and scored 308 runs from 8 innings. He had an excellent strike rate of 166.49 in the league.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, he had hit 37 boundaries and 12 maximums. He was in the fourth spot on the orange cap list. He also hammered Shivam Mavi of KKR for six fours in an over during an 82 run knock.

IPL 2021 got suspended midway due to the COVID-19 breach in the secure bio bubble where the teams stayed. Some players and support staff got infected with covid-19. The remaining 31 matches of the League are scheduled to be held in UAE in the September-October window.

In the Sri Lanka tour, the Indian team would play three ODIS and three T20Is starting on 13th July. The Premadasa Stadium in Colombo is scheduled to host all six games of the limited-overs series.
