The Pro Kabaddi League 2022 (PKL), which is ongoing, is witnessing one of the greatest thrillers in the history of the tournament and the match between Dabang Delhi and Haryana Steelers was no exception as the latter clinched it with a scoreline of 38-36 on October 17, Monday. After the crushing defeat, the Steelers coach Manpreet Singh opened up on the loss and said a few strong words to the media. Commenting on players, Singh said that they can't win unless they listen and believe.

The strong words from the coach came after the Steelers, who are known for their grit, lost the match by only a whisker. For the unversed, the scores were tied during the final raid and Naveen Kumar, the raider from Delhi, managed to steal a bonus and a forced error from Steeler's Manjeet sealed the game for Delhi.

"This match even we could have won till the last second. I commend the Delhi team’s courage. Only those who are a brave win in Kabaddi. They could have played for a tie but today, Kabaddi won. Naveen did what he should have done with the bonus attempt," the Steelers coach Singh said after the match. "We wanted to play on the baulk line, and I was screaming from the side, that was our plan but I guess the players could not hear me because of the crowd," he added.

"This team can’t lose to anyone, the only way we will lose is through our own mistakes. As long as they (players) don’t listen and won’t believe, we won’t get a win," said the coach further. Reasonably, the Steelers captain Joginder Narwal looked upset in the press conference and he would look to turn things around in the next match.

My performance does not matter: Manjeet

Manjeet, who bagged his second Super 10 for the Steelers, said that his performances go in vain if the result is not in favour of the team. Dejected by the loss, The star said that he would have been happy if the team had won against such a strong opponent. "Why would my performance matter when we did not get the win? If I perform well and the team wins, I will be happy but with such losses, my performance does not matter," said Manjeet after the match.

With this defeat, the Steelers slipped to fifth place in the points table with two wins and two defeats in the four matches that they have played so far. On the other hand, Delhi, who are in roaring form, top the table after winning all the games that they have played.
