Fakhar Zaman had a dream run with the bat in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022. Playing for eventual champions Lahore Qalandars, he amassed 578 runs in 13 games averaging 45.23 with one hundred and seven fifties. However, couldn't score big in the final against Multan Sultans as he got out on three runs. Qalandars came back strongly after the early blow as they posted 180/5.
During the game, two fans clicked a long-distance selfie with Zaman. However, the left-hander is not clearly visible as he was standing far away from the duo. One of them uploaded the picture on Twitter and tagged the opening batter and captioned ‘Selfie With Fakhar Zaman’ with a laughing emoji. In response, the 2017 Champions Trophy winner said ‘It was nice to meet you' with a laughing emoji.

Talking about the final game, the Shaheen Afridi-led side won the toss and elected to bat first in the PSL final. They were tottering at 79/4 in 11.5 overs as they lost the wickets of Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique, Zeeshan Ashraf, and Kamran Ghulam early. A half-century from former Pakistan international Mohammad Hafeez (69) and cameos from Harry Brook (41*) and David Wiese (28*) helped the team post a competitive total of 180/5.
In reply, the former champions lost five wickets for 63 runs. In-form skipper Mohammad Rizwan (14), Shan Masood (19), Aamer Azmat (6), and Rilee Rossouw (15) went cheaply. The partnership of 51 runs between Tim David (27) and Khushdil Shah (32) provided a ray of hope, although they had a very little chance of winning. After the duo was dismissed, Lahore's first ever PSL win became a writing on the wall as Multan were all-out for 138 runs.
