Tim David, the Multan Sultans' firepower in the middle-order, has tested positive for Covid-19. Multan Sultans are scheduled to play in the qualifier of the Pakistan Super League on the 23rd of February against Lahore Qalandars. David has been a very important player for them in the middle-order. He helped them win many matches this season.

Winning nine out of the 10 games, Sultans topped the points table in the league stage. Tim David had an important role to play as he is among the top 10 run scorers this season. He has played the role of a finisher for the team and has scored 250 runs in 10 matches at an average of over 40. His strike rate has been close to 200.

Although his Test results have not been confirmed by the Sultans' management, GEO News has reported him to be positive. The number of covid positive cases has been increasing in the PSL setup. In the last few weeks, several people in the PSL covid bubble have tested positive for the virus. Last Monday, Danny Morrison,  former New Zealand cricketer, tested positive for the virus.

Three Peshawar Zalmi players, Sohail Khan, Usman Qadir, and Ben Cutting, as well as their coach, Hashim Amla, also  delivered positive results. Zalmi are scheduled to play the first eliminator against Islamabad United on the 24th of February.

Meanwhile, Multan Sultans will miss Tim David in the important game. However, they also have many other in-form players. Captain Mohammad Rizwan is in great form and can lead the team from the front in their next game. They also have Shan Masood and Rilee Rossouw on the team.
