Punjab might release Mayank Agarwal ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023 – Reports

According to recent reports, the Punjab franchise might release their captain, Mayank Agarwal ahead of the next edition of this league. Last year, he did not have a great season both as a batter and leader. Mayank Agarwal led his team to the sixth position only with seven wins out of 14 matches.

He scored only 196 runs in 13 matches, at an average of 16.33. So, reports are suggesting that the Punjab franchise is going to release him. Now, reports are also coming that Jonny Bairstow might become the new captain of the franchise.

Speaking about the Indian T20 League 2023, Sourav Ganguly confirmed earlier that the next season of men’s Indian T20 League will happen in the home and away format with all ten teams playing their home matches at their designated venues. Apart from his, reports are also there that Chennai might look to trade Ravindra Jadeja with Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur of Delhi. However, the transfer/trade window will remain open till one week before the auction. Then, it will re-open after the conclusion of the proposed auction in mid-December.
