Pakistan are currently busy playing the series opener against the Kiwis in the two-match home Test series. Earlier this month, the Men in Green faced humiliation when England whitewashed them in the three-match Test series at home. So, Babar Azam and his men were looking for a positive start to this series by winning the first match.

Speaking of the match, Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat first. However, they took a surprising decision by dropping Mohammad Rizwan. Instead of him, they went with veteran wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed. It was his first Test match for Pakistan after playing the last one way back in 2019.
