Vedaant Madhavan, the son of Bollywood star R. Madhavan, has made the nation proud by winning the silver medal at the Danish Open swimming competition. The 16-year old participated in the competition held in Copenhagen and clocked 15.57.86 in the men's 1500m freestyle event. This timing was the personal best for Vedaant. Meanwhile, Alexander Bjorn defeated Vedaant to the finish line (15:50.18). The bronze medal was won by Frederik Lindholm (16:02.22).
He achieved this feat on Friday, however, this is not his only major achievement. The swimmer had also won a bronze medal at Latvia open in March 2021. Proud of his son's achievements, R Madhvan took to Instagram to express his gratitude toward Vedaant's coach and the swimming federation of India.
"@vedaantmadhavan wins Silver for India at the Danish Open in Copenhagen. Thank you so much Pradeep sir, #swimmingfederationofindia, and #ansadxb for all your efforts. We are so proud," he wrote in the caption while sharing a video from the felicitation ceremony.
