Australia's veteran cricketer Rachel Haynes has been ruled out of the one-off Day-Night Test against India. She has suffered a hamstring injury and had walked off while fielding during the third ODI as well. She has not recovered in time for the historic Test to be played under lights. Moreover, the left-handed batter will also miss the three-match T20I series to follow.

Australia head coach Matthew Mott confirmed the news, according to Cricbuzz, saying, "Unfortunately her hamstring is no good. She's devastated - obviously Test matches don't come around too often, she's a key member of our squad so our thoughts are with her at the moment."

Beth Mooney is the favourite to open the innings now with Haynes ruled out. Mooney is in great form having scored a century and a fifty in the last two ODIs against India. She also got injured during the third ODI but Mott is confident that the left-hander will recover in time.

Meanwhile, another injured player Georgia Wareham looks set to get fit for the Test match. She had suffered a quad injury during the second ODI and might play if she is available for selection. "Georgia's ticking all the boxes for her return to play. She was very sensible around that - she felt something quite early, got treatment and has been doing everything she can to get it right.

"Personally, I really hope she gets through it after missing out in the last Test we played. She's a key member; no matter what the wicket serves up, she's a wicket-taker and she's an incredibly good thing for this team - she leads the way in the field and her batting is evolving all the time," Mott further added.
