Rahul Dravid as India's head coach is a good idea according to Inzamam-Ul-Haq

Former Pakistani captain Inzamam-Ul-Haq stated that the appointment of Rahul Dravid is an amazing idea. Rahul Dravid is being considered for the role of Team India head coach for the Sri Lanka limited-overs tour.

Former Pakistani captain Inzamam-Ul-Haq stated that the appointment of Rahul Dravid is an amazing idea. Rahul Dravid is being considered for the role of Team India head coach for the Sri Lanka limited-overs tour.

The need for a separate coach for the Lankan tour aroused as the appointed coach Ravi Shastri will be in England. Ravi Shastri will be with the Virat Kohli-led India team for the WTC final and five tests against England.

Inzamam stated in his YouTube video, Rahul is a good choice. He had previously worked with young players at the junior level. Rahul Dravid had mentored them to become match winners. He had produced brilliant players from the U-19 group for the Indian Team. In the Sri Lanka tour, Dravid could be an amazing coach to the players.

Rahul Dravid is the head of the National Cricket Academy(NCA)

Dravid has previously served as the coach of India A and India Under-19 teams. It was under his guidance when India lifted the Under-19 world cup trophy. Prithvi Shaw was then the captain of the team in 2018. Dravid was also applauded after several youngsters mentored by him, helped in India’s Test series win against Australia.

In Sri Lanka, the Indian Team would play three ODIs and T20Is from 13th to 27th July

Inzamam-Ul-Haq further showed his appreciation for the strong domestic structure of Indian Cricket. He stated that India is bringing a change in the world of cricket. India can field two different international teams almost at the same time. Any nation that strengthens its base and improves First Class structure can do what India is doing at the moment. He elaborated that India can set a benchmark for other nations if it successfully pulls off both series.

In the past, Rahul Dravid had a short stint with the Indian national team as a batting consultant. MS Dhoni had led the team on the tour of England in 2014. Dravid, the Indian Legend, had spent some of his valuable time with the team’s young batsmen. He gave them advice on ways to counter the challenging conditions in England.
