Rahul Dravid in line to replace Ravi Shastri as Team India head coach: Reetinder Sodhi

Former Indian cricketer Reetinder Singh Sodhi believes Rahul Dravid might replace Ravi Shastri as Team India's head coach. Ravi Shastri's contract with BCCI expires after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup later this year. Connecting the dots, Reetinder Sodhi opined that Rahul Dravid is clearly in line to replace Shastri after the World Cup. Ravi Shastri has been the head coach of Team India since 2017.  

Under him, the Indian cricket team defeated Australia twice in the Test series down under. The Men in Blue have also reached the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup and the WTC final. However, the side lost both to New Zealand.

In 2014, Dravid worked with the national side as a batting consultant

Rahul Dravid has been coaching and mentoring the U-19 team and the A-side. He is no stranger to the role. Cricketers like Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw have all been mentored and coached by Rahul Dravid. The former Indian batsman has been responsible for providing the senior cricket team with talented cricketers over the years.
