Wriddhiman Saha has been trending for the past few days. As he went on to reveal his conversation with Rahul Dravid, fans across the country have had mixed opinions about the same. The keeper-batter had said that the head coach of India had asked him to consider retirement after the series against South Africa.

However, Dravid has said that he isn’t hurt over the fact that Saha went on to disclose a private conversation. He even said that he still respects the Bengal cricketer. The legend stated that he felt the need to be honest with Saha.

“I’m actually not hurt at all. I have deep respect for Wriddhi and his achievements and his contribution to Indian cricket. My conversation came from that place. I think he deserved honesty and clarity,” said Rahul Dravid, as quoted by NDTV Sports.

The 49-year-old stated that he constantly has conversations with his players. However, he also said that he doesn’t expect them to always agree with him. Further on, Dravid also said that his style is to discuss with players, even before every playing XI is picked.

“It’s about conversations I constantly have with players. I don’t expect players to always agree with everything I say about them. That’s not how it works. You can have difficult conversations with the players, but that doesn’t mean you brush it under the carpet and don’t have the conversations. I always believe in having those conversations before every playing XI is picked and being open to questions such as why they are not playing. It’s natural for players to get upset and feel hurt,” he added.

It is to be noted that Saha also revealed his private conversation with Sourav Ganguly as well. He claimed that the BCCI president had assured him a spot as long as he’s the president. Besides, he recently leaked a WhatsApp chat, where an anonymous journalist was threatening him as well.
