Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer stated that Rahul Dravid should not be pushed as a permanent team India coach. Wasim Jaffer talked about the importance of Rahul Dravid's guidance for the emerging cricketers at the youth levels. He also stated how his presence was a key reason for India having a strong bench strength in the international domain.

Ravi Shastri has been the head coach of Team India since the year 2017. The former Indian cricketer has been pretty impressive in his tenure. Under him, the Indian cricket team defeated Australia twice in the Test series down under. The Men in Blue have also reached the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup and the WTC final.

There can't be a better role model or mentor other than Rahul Dravid: Wasim Jaffer

Rahul Dravid has been managing the U19 and India A teams for the last few years. He is also currently serving as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The former Indian captain is present with the Indian team as the stand-in coach for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. Speaking on this matter, Wasim Jaffer expressed that Rahul Dravid shouldn't be pushed as a permanent team India coach.

Wasim Jaffer singed off by crediting BCCI for bringing quality young players at the U19 and India A levels. He also reckoned that the credit should go to the Indian cricket board and Rahul Dravid for managing to create a huge bench strength for the Indian team. Jaffer believes that Rahul Dravid's mentorship will help the youngsters in Sri Lanka. All the players can benefit a lot from having the former Indian captain as coach of the team.

Meanwhile, two different Indian teams will be playing at two different parts of the world simultaneously. One team will be battling it out against England, whereas the other side would be playing against Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the young Indian cricket team in the Island nation. On the other hand, Virat Kohli will lead the team in England.
