Rahul Dravid recommended Ajinkya Rahane not to bat a lot in the nets and pressure himself during the series. In the absence of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane took over the captaincy of Team India.

Since he retired from the game, Rahul Dravid has been actively helping the Indian cricket team. The former batsman has been in constant contact with some of the cricketers, advising them before the Border-Gavaskar Series.

Rahane scored 268 runs at an average of 38.29.

Ajinkya Rahane will be back in action as Team India's vice-captain in the forthcoming Test series against England. Virat Kohli is also set to return as captain for the first Test in Chennai. The batsman missed the last three Tests against Australia as he was on paternity leave. Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah are also back in the squad after recovering from injuries.
