Shane Warne led the Rajasthan team for several editions. Under the legendary cricketer's leadership, the team won the title during the inaugural season, and scripted history. The passing away of the veteran cricketer at the age of 52 earlier this year left everyone heartbroken. However, the Rajasthan team and their fans have kept their hero's legacy alive.

In the second qualifier match of the Indian T20 League 2022 between Rajasthan and Bangalore, the fans were spotted paying tribute to Warne. A group of fans were seen wearing jerseys with Warne's name and jersey number 23 printed on it. They also carried a banner with Warne's image and the words "Forever the First Royal". A photo of the same went viral over the internet.

In a league-stage game against Mumbai, the Rajasthan team also paid tribute to the leg-spinner. In the match played at the DY Patil Stadium, all the team players donned the jersey with his initials, "SW23", inscribed on the collar. Notably, Shane Warne played his farewell tournament game against Mumbai. Rajasthan also won the 2008 final at the same venue, i.e. DY Patil Stadium.

"The belief he could instil in others, I think, was the biggest thing I took away, you know. Think he made you feel 10 feet tall when you were around him," Jos Buttler said in a video released by the team ahead of that match.

In the meantime, Rajasthan beat Bangalore by seven wickets in the second qualifier. They will now compete against Gujarat in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on the 29th of May. In the match against Bangalore, Rajasthan's bowlers did exceedingly well to restrict Rajasthan to a modest score of 157. To follow it up, Buttler played an excellent knock, and scored his fourth century of the season. Thus, he won the match for his team. He hit 106 runs in 60 balls in his brilliant batting display.
