The three-match T20I series of India's tour of England recently concluded, with the visitors taking home the series 2-1. Both the teams had some great performances throughout the series, which kept the encounters neck to neck for the most time. However, India emerged victorious towards the end with some exceptional bowling performances from most of their players. Here are some of the best players of India vs England T20I series.
Chris Jordan
While most of the other English bowlers were hammered for a few runs during the series, Chris Jordan was able to remain economical. He stuck to the basics by bowling hard lengths, which had positive results. He was only hit with some runs in the final match and ended the series with an economy of 7.25.
In addition, he also got the most number of wickets in the series, eight. These figures include a four-wicket haul in the second match, where he got rid of most of India's middle order. He got two wickets in the first and the third match each.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
With his outstanding swing, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star performer for India in the series. The pacer caused problems for the English batters during the powerplay, limiting their opportunity to take advantage of the field restrictions. He only played two of the three matches in the series, but he performed admirably.
He finished the series with four wickets and an economy rate of just 4.17 in two matches. Jos Buttler, the English captain and India's biggest threat, was his target on both occasions, and he got him cheaply. In the first match, an in-swinging delivery took his stumps, while an out-swinging took an edge of his bat in the second match.
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav was unstoppable with the bat, especially in the final match of the series. He didn't get many runs in the first two games, but he appeared to be in good enough shape to make an effect on the series. He finished the series with 171 runs, an average of 57, and a tremendous strike rate of 201. The right-hander was the highest scorer of the series.
In the final match of the series, Suryakumar became only the fifth Indian to score a century in T20I cricket. He hit 117 runs in 55 balls to help India move close to chasing down the 216-run target. He, unfortunately, fell short of taking the team through but did his job to perfection.
