England's star all-rounder Ben Stokes recently announced his retirement from the 50-over format of the game. The 31-year-old's retirement from One Day Internationals comes only months after he was named England's test captain. His final game will be the first ODI against South Africa. Meanwhile, he has given the fans many memorable performances in this format. Here are the top three best performances of Ben Stokes in ODIs.

#3. 99(52) vs India, 2021

The second One-Day International (ODI) of England's 2020/21 tour of India was played at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Pune. In response to the 337-run chase, England got off to a good start as Roy and Bairstow shared 110 runs for the first wicket. However, it was Ben Stokes who stole the show.

Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow put on a 175-run partnership for the second wicket. The last 11 balls of the former's 52-ball stay, in particular, were pure destruction. The all-rounder went on a six-hitting rampage, hitting six sixes and scoring 49 runs in the last 11 balls.

#2. 102*(109) vs Australia, Champions Trophy 2017

While chasing a target of 278 runs, England was down two wickets for a score of just six runs. Ben Stokes then came to England's rescue. He initially played with caution, and tried not to lose his wicket. He then took on the likes of Starc, Cummins, and Adam Zampa.

Before rain intervened, he reached his 108-ball century with a cover-driven four off Zampa. However, England was already 40 runs ahead by the D/L system at that moment and went on to win the match.

#1. 84*(98) vs New Zealand, World Cup 2019 Final

While chasing a target of 242 runs, England had lost four wickets for a score of 86 runs. The run rate had crept up to run-a-ball, and England's only remaining batters were Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler. Stokes shared a 110-run partnership with Buttler, and continued his onslaught, scoring 46 runs with the tail.

The final was a draw, which led to a super over. Stokes excelled there as well, hitting 8 of 3 to help England score 15. The Black Caps were only able to match that score, as the hosts won the World Cup final on a boundary count.
