Ravi Shastri reacts to India retaining the number 1 spot in ICC Test rankings

In the Test format, the Indian Cricket Team has been crowned the number one spot. Team India has grabbed the top spot in the ICC Test ranking for the fifth consecutive year. India dominated the Test format. The excellent way in which the team played, delighted Ravi Shastri.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) after its annual update declared the latest team ranking. The number one spot was reserved for the Indian Team. After gaining one rating point for an aggregate of 121. Team India accumulated 2914 points from 24 matches. New Zealand grabbed second place with a rating of 120. Australia and England ranked respectively after New Zealand on the charts.

The head coach Ravi Shastri, played an active role in the rise of the team in every aspect. The players could bring their ‘A’ game to the table under his guidance, in the Test format. He reacted to the team’s recent achievement on Instagram. The Indian Team has shown steely resolve and unwavering focus to be on the top of the chart. The team earned the position fair and square. The India team overcame every hurdle that came along the way by playing tough cricket at tough times.

Ravi Shastri commented on the point’s calculation system's alteration by the ICC for the World Test Championship (WTC). It had happened midway through the championship. The India team overcame the hurdle and still managed to top the table.

The India Team is going to face New Zealand next month, in World Test Championship (WTC)

In the summit clash, India is going to square off against New Zealand for the WTC final in England. It is going to be a match to look out for after the ICC rankings. The only ones to record a series win against India in the WTC are the Kiwis.

Southampton is going to host the World Test Championship from June 18 to 22. The championship would decide the first-ever World Test Champion. It is going to be an exciting match to see.
