Darren Stevens batted at number 7 against Glamorgan on the second day of the match in Canterbury. His magnificent knock lifted Kent, his team, to competitive first innings of 307.

Indian women’s cricketer Shikha Pandey alluded Darren on Twitter. She appreciated his brilliant counter-attacking innings. She wrote that Darren Smith is an incredible cricketer. Ravichandran Ashwin agreed with what Pandey wrote on Twitter.

Darren Stevens’ stint with the bat lifted Kent to a good place. At one point the team had collapsed to 128 for 8. Darren Stevens and Miguel Cummins then took the reins of batting in their hand on the ninth wicket. They put 166 on board for the team. Darren Smith, during that innings, hit 15 fours and equal sixes. He was dismissed when he was 10 short of a well-earned 200. In the partnership, Miguel Cummings contribution was just 1 off 55 balls. Cummings was the last man out. Labuschagne bowled him out. Michael Neser and Timm Van der Gugten were the bowlers of Glamorgan.

When Glamorgan came out to bat, the day got even better for Darren Stevens. He tricked Labuschagne lbw for 11 off 14. After 14 overs, the Glamorgan’s were 31 for 2.
