Pakistan players played the Indian T20 League in the inaugural edition in 2008. However, they were banned by the Indian Cricket Board due to the political relations between India and Pakistan after the first season.

There is always a conversation about whether Pakistan players could have fetched enough money if they were allowed in the biggest T20 League. A few months ago, former speedster Shoaib Akhtar picked a few players who might have been picked.

Now, India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also picked a player from Pakistan who might have gotten big bucks. The former has picked Shaheen Afridi who might have earned around 14-15 crores in the league. In the 14-year-old history of the league, Chris Morris is the most expensive player ever as he earned more than 16 crores in 2021. Coming back to Afridi, Ashwin praised his Pakistani counterpart for the way he bowls.

"I have thought a lot about it and how crazy it would have been if Shaheen Afridi had been there in IPL auction. A tall left-arm seamer who sets the game with the new ball and also unleashes yorkers at the death. He might have gone for 14-15 crore had he been there at the IPL auction," added Ashwin.

Shaheen Afridi's absence will hurt the team in the Asia Cup: Ravichandran Ashwin

The two-time World Championship winner added that even though Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf bowled well in the 20-20 World Cup game last year, Shaheen Shah made the difference. Currently, the left-arm pacer has been ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. Ashwin feels that Afridi's absence might hurt Pakistan badly.

"Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf bowled really well the last time we faced Pakistan, but Shaheen Afridi made the difference. He provides an X-factor to the team and his absence will hurt the team more in the tournament," Ashwin was quoted as saying by SportsTiger.

Afridi is currently with the team in the UAE and is recovering from the knee injury.
