Sunil Gavaskar lashed the BCCI for their impassive behaviour and rules for different players. Gavaskar also made a sarcastic comment at the team management for keeping T Natarajan as a net bowler in Tests. The pacer was refrained from seeing his new-born daughter for the first time. However, Kohli is being allowed to miss the last three Test games to be there during his child's birth.
Sunil Gavaskar also feels that India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin always has to fight for his place in the squad. The spinner has always produced several match-winning knocks for India. He also has the guts to oppose team management decisions. He is one of a kind who doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind out. The commentator further added that there were chances of dropping Ashwin if he did not pick up four wickets in first innings.
Sunil Gavaskar feels Team India was unfair with T Natarajan
Additionally, Sunil Gavaskar is not happy with the board for stopping T Natarajan for the Test series. Natarajan is a net bowler despite his brilliant performance in the white-ball leg. The bowler had become a father for the first time during the IPL playoffs. He has not seen his daughter since he travelled to Australia for the series. The pacer will now meet his new-born daughter only after the end of the entire series in January 2021.
Speaking on the same, Gavaskar said that BCCI should have permitted the bowler to travel back to India after the white-ball series. The veteran batsman is not gratified with the authorities' different approach towards two other players of the same team. The veteran believes that there should be the same rules for every single player.
In the first pink-ball test match, Team India suffered a humiliating 8-wicket defeat against Australia. The entire batting line-up collapsed out for their lowest-ever Test score 36 runs in the second innings. Both the top teams will next play in the Boxing Day Test at MCG on December, 26.
Ravichandran Ashwin is currently the fourth-highest wicket-taker for team India in the most extended format. He has scalped 370 wickets in 70 matches. Regarding the ODIs, the spinner has taken 150 wickets in 111 games and T20Is, he has picked up 52 wickets in 46 games.
It is going to be an exciting encounter after the collapse of team India in Adelaide, especially in the absence of Virat Kohli.
