India and England are locked in a gruelling encounter at Trent Bridge. The visitors have an upper hand at lunch on Day 3 of the 1st Test with a lead of 8 runs with five wickets in the kitty. The Indians had a brisk start on Day 3 and fetched some quick runs before Rishabh Pant departed for 25, leaving India in shambles at 145-5.

The conditions were not easy and India still trailed by 38 runs. The match could have swung in any direction but a calm and composed Ravindra Jadeja joined hands with ice-cool KL Rahul. The duo has stitched an unbeaten 46 runs, with Jadeja scoring 27 of those. The all-rounder, in the meantime, achieved a historic feat as he became the fifth fastest player to score 2000 runs and pick up 200 wickets in Test cricket.

The elite list features some of the legends of the game with Ian Botham, first to reach the milestone in 42 Test, followed by Indian great Kapil Dev who took 50 games to complete the double. Pakistan veteran Imran Khan (50 Tests), Ravichandran Ashwin ( 51 Tests) and Ravindra Jadeja (53 Tests) are next on the list.

Jadeja joined the likes of Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and R Ashwin to become the fifth Indian and 21st overall to achieve the feat. The No 2 ranked all-rounder has made 1206 runs at home in 44 innings and 797 runs in 32 innings overseas. He averages a staggering 35.77 and has a hundred and 15 half-centuries to show in the longest format of the game.
