Popular commentator Aakash Chopra believes that Royal Challengers Bangalore might try to acquire pacer Mitchell Starc in the auctions. The Australian made his debut for RCB back in the year 2014, and they would definitely want their ace bowler back in the squad if he is available. Starc played with the Bangalore based franchise for two seasons. In those IPL seasons, the seamer picked up 34 wickets from 27 matches. His best figures till date are four for 15.

Aakash Chopra believes that the Royal Challengers Bangalore might try to acquire pacer Mitchell Starc in the auctions. In 2019, Starc was suppose to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders, but he missed out the all season after sustaining an injury. Aakash Chopra believes that RCB may not bother spending money on a bowler like Starc. For the upcoming auctions in February, Chopra stated that RCB would have to use up all their money as they have eleven slots to fill for the league's 14th edition.

RCB can go to 15-19 crores for Mitchell Starc: Aakash Chopra

Virat Kohli and the team performed well in IPL 2020, held in the United Arab Emirates. The presence of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Yuzvendra Chahal made the side look stronger. However, once again, they did not win the trophy.

One of the primary causes of their loss was poor death bowling. There have been several instances when RCB could not defend the target despite scoring huge totals. RCB released Chris Morris and Umesh Yadav, while Dale Steyn has made himself unavailable for the upcoming season. Now the side will have to rope in some key pacers, and it won't be a surprise if RCB will have a go at Starc.

Aakash Chopra concluded the session by stating that Morris could still make a comeback to the squad. The Proteas player could only feature in nine matches for RCB in IPL 2020. He was then ruled out due to several injuries in the initial and final stages of the tournament. He picked up 11 wickets at an excellent average of 19.09 with an impressive economy rate of 6.63.

In the 2020 IPL, Virat Kohli's led side was defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator match. The Royal Challengers Bangalore have played the final games three times but can yet get their hands on the IPL trophy after 13 seasons.
