Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders locked horns in the 36th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023. Both teams played this match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The hostsโ€™ skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and asked KKR to bat first.

Batting first, the Knight Riders managed to post a big total of 200 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Later on, RCB failed to cross the line and faced the fourth defeat in their eighth match of the tournament so far.

The cricket fans also took to Twitter to troll RCB for losing the match from a strong position at the beginning of the run-chase against KKR. They came up with a lot of trolling reactions for the hosts after a loss at the home ground.

Hereโ€™s how fans reacted:

Talking about the entire action of the match between RCB and KKR, the veteran KKR opener Jason Roy scored a crucial half-century and played a blistering knock of 56 runs off just 29 balls with four boundaries and five sixes to his name. Other than Roy, KKRโ€™s skipper Nitish Rana also smashed a swashbuckling knock of 48 runs off just 21 balls with three fours and four sixes with the bat. On the back if these kinds of knocks, the visitors managed to put in a total of 200 runs for the loss of five wickets in the first 20 overs of the game.

Wanindu Hasaranga and Vijaykumar Vyshak scalped two wickets each for RCB alongside one wicket claimed by star pacer Mohammed Siraj.

While chasing the target, the entire batting attack of RCB struggled against the KKR bowlers except for Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror. Kohli scored 54 runs off 37 balls with six boundaries followed by Lomrorโ€™s 34 runs off just 18 balls with a boundary and three sixes on his credit.

But their knocks went in vain as the hosts could score only 179 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the entire 20 overs and lost the match by 21 runs.

Varun Chakravarthy scalped three wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders alongside two wickets each by Suyash Sharma and Andre Russell.
