'Real account Se Aao Shreyash Iyer' - Fans react as Shreyas Iyer's look-a-like Akshay Totre officiates as umpire in ODI World Cup 2023 warm-up match

Akshay Totre, who almost resembles the star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer, is officiating in the warm-up game of ODI World Cup 2023.

The warm-up games for the ODI World Cup 2023 have been kicked off today as one out of the three games scheduled today, has been washed off due to rain. Whereas, four teams are in action in two ongoing warm-up matches on the first day. Pakistan and New Zealand are locking horns at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. On the other hand, Sri Lanka are taking on Bangladesh at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, the India-based umpire Akshay Totre has grabbed the headlines on social media just after taking the field to officiate as an umpire in the match between Pakistan and New Zealand. Notably, Totre almost looks like the star Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer. The eagle-eyed fans didn’t miss to notice this and they immediately came up with some hilarious reactions.

The Indore-born Akshay Totre is one of the veteran umpires in the Indian domestic circuit; he has officiated as an umpire in 22 First-Class matches, 30 List-A matches, and 41 T20s (including 6 T20s as TV Umpire).

It is the first of his experiences to officiate in a match between two international teams. Although it is a warm-up match before the main round of the tournament.

Babar and Rizwan power Pakistan to a good total in the warm-up match against New Zealand

Speaking of the current action of the ongoing warm-up match between Pakistan and New Zealand, the men in green are batting first after winning the toss. They have scored 248 runs for the loss of four wickets so far courtesy of Mohammad Rizwan’s brilliant century as he scored 103 runs, including 9 fours and 2 sixes before getting retired out.

Other than Rizwan, skipper Babar Azam also scored 80 runs, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes with the willow. Currently, the middle-order batters Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman are there in the middle on the scores of 36 and 1 run, respectively.

Mitchell Santner has scalped two wickets for New Zealand, alongside one wicket picked by Matt Henry.
