Real Madrid defeated Eintracht Frankfurt by 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup

The Spanish side and the German club named strong teams for the season starter. Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, and Thibaut Courtois were the starters among others in this high-profile final. Meanwhile, Frankfurt opened with Rafael Borre, Daichi Kamada, and others in the final. The game however showcased the superiority of a Champions League winner as Real Madrid won the match with ease. They started off in great fashion and controlled the ball in the midfield, thanks to quality players in Kross and Modric.

The first goal of the match came in the 37th minute when Alaba converted Casemiro’s mistimed shot into a goal. The Spanish side doubled their lead in the 65th minute when star striker Benzema beat the Frankfurt keeper. The striker buried a pass from Vinicius Junior after cutting back the defensive line of Frankfurt. The Champions League winner won the match by a 2-0 margin. This marked a trophy-winning start for the Real Madrid side. Now, they will look forward to their matches in the Laliga.

Real Madrid’s coach Carlo Ancelotti was in a jubilant mood after this ecstatic win. He said, “Eintracht were very closed and we found it difficult to find our rhythm, but we did it well then. It’s difficult at the beginning of the season to be in top form but we now have won to start the season well.” Real Madrid will play Almeria in their first match of the Laliga season on August 15th.
