The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided to unveil the two new Indian Premier League (IPL) teams on Monday (October 25) in Dubai. Popular English Premier League (EPL)club Manchester United's owners, Glazer family have shown a keen interest to acquire one of the two new teams. It was earlier also reported the Glazer family’s late inclination was one of the reasons because of which BCCI pushed the original date of purchasing the Invitation to Tender (ITT) from October 5 to 10.

The Glazer family are based in the USA and had started to inquire about BCCI’s proposal of launching two new teams in 2022.  "Well yes, it is true that they have shown interest and that may be one of the reasons why the dateline was extended by the BCCI. IPL is not just restricted to India, it is a global entity now," the source pointed out according to my Khel.

Apart from Manchester United, even Sanjay Goenka and Bollywood couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are interested in buying one of two new IPL teams. The BCCI has fixed criteria of a minimum turnover of 2500, 3000 crores. If reports are to be believed then Lucknow and Ahmadabad are frontrunners for the new teams in the IPL.
