Australia are currently busy playing the second Test match against South Africa in the ongoing three-match Test series. After winning the series opener, the Aussies were looking to win this game also to seal the series. However, it was a great occasion for David Warner as it was his 100th Test match for Australia.
However, he finally managed to end his century drought in the longest format of the game as Warner scored 200* runs off 254 balls. However, the former Aussie captain, Ricky Ponting was busy doing commentary. There, he came up with a great prediction about the double hundred milestone at MCG.

On day one of this match, Ricky Ponting made a great prediction about Marco Jansen’s dismissal. Before the dismissal, the former Australia skipper was pointing to the build-up of pressure on Jansen. He said: “They are tempting him with a build-up of pressure to try and hit over the top.”
Then, in the next ball only, Jansen tried to hit the ball over the top and Cameron Green took an easy catch. Nathan Lyon took that wicket. Fellow commentator Tim Lane praised Ricky Ponting for his exceptional prediction. He said: “Well done, Ricky. Exactly as foretold. Lyon takes the wicket.” Then, his form regarding top-class predictions continued on day two also.
In previewing Day 2, Ricky Ponting was asked if David Warner can manage to score a hundred in his 100th game like he did the same. In reply, Ponting said: ‘Yes. And if he gets it, he might make 200. There you go.” Eventually, his prediction came out true when David Warner scored 200* runs off 254 balls. However, after that, he went off the field of feeling discomfort. Speaking of the match, South Africa got bundled out for just 189 runs. In reply, Australia scored 386 runs for three wickets in 91 overs at the end of day two.
