Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara

Before the WTC final, Indian players Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara talked about their favorite Test matches. Both the batsmen have ranked the Gabba Test match as their favorite Test match. The Men in Blue defeated Australians on their lawn and bagged the series 2-1. India became the first side to beat the Kangaroos in Australia at the Gabba since the 1988-89 season. It was Pujara's splendid knock that made the difference on the last day of the series decider at the iconic stadium, Gabba.

The Indian cricket team scripted history by fetching its second consecutive test series win in Australia recently in the 2020 December. The win in Australia's fortress will almost be cherished for a long time now. With all the odds favoring the Australian cricket team, the young Indian players put their hands up for the nation and played like real heroes of the country.

Pant scored an unbeaten 89 runs to help India win the series against Australia

Cheteshwar Pujara faced around 211 deliveries for his 56 runs. India's Test specialist formed a crucial stand with opening batsman Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. These players helped the visitors chased down a record-shattering 329 runs to win the series decider. This is so far Cheteshwar Pujara's slowest half-century in the game's longest format.

The middle-order batsman faced several blows to the body and hands but still stood firm in the middle. Team India bounced back from an upsetting loss in the series opener in Adelaide to win the series despite losing some of their crucial players during the 4 Test matches. Cheteshwar Pujara's dominance on Day 5 at Gabba was a reflection of that spirit as he faced multiple blows on the body. Because of Pujara, other players like Gill, Rahane, and Pant could play aggressive knocks and took the attack to Australia.

India's wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 89 runs off 138 deliveries to help India seize the victory. The youngster's heroic innings consisted of nine boundaries and a six. The Indian cricket team scripted history by chasing down 328 on Day 5 of the Gabba Test. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Co. are gearing up to face New Zealand at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. Both the teams will fight hard to win the maiden season of the World Test championship.
