Rohit Sharma has given an enormous lift to Mumbai Indians before their Qualifier against Delhi Capitals. He has given an encouraging update on his hamstring injury. The Mumbai Indians skipper gave a big surprise to the fans by getting back to action on Tuesday for the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Mumbai Indians management had ruled Rohit out since October 18, after he suffered the injury during the game against Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing IPL. A week ago, he was not named in any of the three formats’ squad of India for the tour of Australia by BBCI as they updated that the injury was serious.

Nonetheless, Rohit Sharma never gave that impression from his end. As soon as BCCI announced the Indian team, Mumbai Indians reported that their captain has gotten back to preparing in the nets. Rohit Sharma was batting in the nets on Sunday as well, before finally returning to playing in IPL 2020 game on Tuesday.

His unexpected return raised numerous eyebrows as many people proposed that the opener was hastening his comeback for the playoffs. But, the Mumbai skipper and star batsman have dismissed all the worries concerning his hamstring. Talking after the game against SRH, Rohit stated his happiness over getting back to action before claiming that his hamstring injury is totally fine now.

“I was happy to be back, it’s been a while. I’m looking forward to play few more games here, let’s see what happens. It (hamstring) is fine, absolutely,” said Rohit Sharma.

Mumbai Indians lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday

Though he made a comeback on Tuesday, he still couldn’t lead his team to win the match against SRH. He could score just 4 off 7 balls as SRH defeated MI by ten wickets to get into the playoffs. In the playoffs, they will clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eliminator round.

The return of Rohit to the team is good news for his side, as the team is hoping to defend the championship and win the trophy for the fifth time. So far, Mumbai Indians have won the IPL championship for the maximum times, 4 times.
