Indian Captain Rohit Sharma has completed 15 years in International cricket. From being a part of the Indian team that won the inaugural T20 World Cup back in 2007 to becoming India's full-time captain in all the formats, Rohit has come a long way.

The opening batter has now taken this opportunity to thank the supporters to have always believed in his abilities. He pointed out that support from the fans makes cricketers overcome difficult situations. He went on to say that he will always cherish the opportunity to play for the Indian team.

"Today I'll be completing 15 years of international cricket since I made my debut for India. What a journey it has been, surely the one that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. I just want to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey and a special thanks for the people who helped me become the player that I am today," he wrote in a heartfelt tweet.

"To all the cricket lovers, fans and critics your love and support for the team is what gets us over those hurdles we all inevitably come across," he added.

Rohit Sharma made his debut for India in an ODI game against Ireland on 23rd June 2007. Since then, he has played 230 ODIs and has scored 9283 with 29 hundreds. He also has played 125 T20I games and 45 Test games, scoring 3313 and 3137 runs, respectively. The 35-year-old has given the fans many memories, including his three double centuries in ODI cricket. His heroics in the 2019 World Cup also have a special place in fans' minds.

Sharma is currently touring England with the Indian team for an all-format series. The one-off Test match will begin on the 1st of July. The Test match will be followed by a three-match T20I series and three-match ODI series starting on the 7th and 12th of July, respectively. The squad will aim to make the most of this series before competing in the T20 World Cup later this year.
