Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians skipper, is hopeful that the groin strain of Trent Boult is nothing serious. He feels that the pacer recuperates soon enough to play the final game of the IPL 2020 on November 10. On Thursday, the defending champions defeated Delhi Capitals by 57 runs and booked a spot in the final of IPL for the fifth time.
Their success, nonetheless, turned somewhat sour after Trent Boult suffered an injury. The pacer had to walk away from the field during the 14th over of Delhi Capitals’ innings, after getting the groin injury.
Rohit Sharma gave a report after the game. While he was unable to confirm the degree of the injury, he said that Boult is alright, and the injury is not an issue. Rohit Sharma is confident the left-arm pacer would recuperate before the IPL final. He added that with the 3-day rest they are getting before the final, Boult should be back on the field.
Rohit Sharma praised his teammate for their strong form
The Mumbai Indians captain missed no chance to praise his teammates. He praised Boult and Jasprit Bumrah after the pair blew away the Delhi team. Boult got 2 wickets for 9 runs off two overs while Bumrah got 4 for only 14 off his four overs. Their bowling spell spoiled the hopes of DC as they completed on 143 at the loss of 8 wickets while they were chasing 201 runs. Rohit said that MI has different plans for each team, and it’s great for him to watch his teammates executing those plans.
Mumbai Indians will now clash with the winner of the second qualifier. Delhi Capitals will play the second qualifier with the winner of the Eliminator. The Eliminator match is between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday.
