Sunil Gavaskar, former captain of Team India, has chosen the three finest players in the Indian Premier League history. Gavaskar named MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma as the finest players in IPL history in interaction with Star Sports.

Notably, Kohli is the most successful batter in the tournament's history, with over 7000 runs in the competition. At the same time, the Mumbai Indians have won the title five times under the captaincy of Rohit. Aside from that, he has scored more than 6000 runs in the IPL.

Under Dhoni's captaincy, Chennai Super Kings have won four championships, and he also has the most victories as a captain. Apart from that, Dhoni has batted for more than 5000 runs in this competition.

In the meantime, fans have been trolling Rohit Sharma as the 1983-winning player named him the greatest of the tournament. Many believed that he did not deserve to be called the greatest despite having won five titles as his recent performances have not helped his team in any sense.

"Who invited mid player like Rohit Sharma?" questioned a fan. "Totally disagree. Rohit Sharma is not eligible to be an IPL great, but international great," another fan wrote on Twitter. "Raina instead of Rohit will be perfect," wrote a third.

As for the ongoing season, all three teams; MI, CSK, and RCB; are yet to qualify for the playoffs. Only Gujarat Titans, led by all-rounder Hardik Pandya, has booked a spot in the top four of the season. While a win for CSK in their next game will assure them a spot in the knockouts, RCB and MI will have to depend on each other's results.

The Men in Yellow will play their next game against Delhi Capitals, while MI and RCB will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad and GT, respectively. The 2023 has been very close in terms of teams' position in the points table.
