Rohit Sharma is now fully fit to play international cricket. The assessment was conducted by the physiotherapists at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The Mumbai Indians captain sustained a hamstring injury during IPL 2020.
In 12 matches for Mumbai Indians, Sharma smashed a total of 332 runs. With 5230 runs in 200 matches, Rohit Sharma is one of the highest run-getters in IPL history. In every season Rohit’s played, he has amassed a total of 250+ runs. This just shows how consistent he has been for the 5 times IPL champions.
Prior to skipping some initial games for Mumbai Indians, Rohit made a return in the latter part of the tournament. His pivotal knock in the final helped Mumbai Indians defeat Delhi Capitals to clinch their 5th IPL trophy.
Rohit was not deemed fit initially
Because Rohit got injured, he was rested for the ODI and the T20I series against Australia. During that time, Rohit has been training to get back to full recovery.
The BCCI Medical team constantly kept an eye on Rohit Sharma. He began his rehabilitation on November 19. Everyone’s focus was now on Rohit’s fitness test on December 11.
Rohit passed the test and now will board a flight to Australia. Rohit will then commence his 14-day quarantine. If everything’s fine, Rohit will be available for selection in the 3rd Test Match. In his Test career, Rohit Sharma has amassed a total of 2141 runs. He also boasts a terrific average of 46.5. He has 6 hundred and 10 half-centuries to his name in 32 test matches. The Indian team realizes how essential Rohit Sharma is. Rohit will bring experience to this relatively young Indian side.
With Rohit’s availability in the 3rd Test, India will get a huge boost for the batting department. With Kohli absent after the 1st Test, all eyes will be on Rohit Sharma. We could also get to see Rohit as the captain of the team since Virat will not be available.
