Team India skipper Rohit Sharma is said to have recovered from COVID-19. He will now join the squad at Edgbaston during the one-off Test against England. He will also be available for all the white-ball matches of the tour. The 35-year-old had missed out on the rescheduled Test match after testing Covid positive during the warmup game against Leicestershire.

Jasprit Bumrah is leading the Indian team in the Test match in Rohit's absence. On the other hand, the regular skipper did not play the T20 warmup game against Northamptonshire despite being out from isolation.

"Yes, Rohit has tested negative and as per medical protocols is now out of quarantine. However, he is not playing today’s T20 warm-up game against Northamptonshire as he will need some recovery time and training ahead of the first T20I," a senior BCCI official said according to The Hindu.

The white-ball series will begin with a three-match T20I series on July 7 (Thursday), followed by an ODI series beginning July 12. (Tuesday). This would be Rohit Sharma's first overseas assignment since taking over as full-time captain of India.
