India is playing the ongoing second ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur. This is a must-win game for the Men In Blue as they lost the first game. Meanwhile, talking about the ongoing game, the home team won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the Indian bowlers have been dominating the proceedings so far. In the midst of all this, India skipper Rohit Sharma got injured.

Apparently, in the second over of the innings, Mohammed Sraj managed to kick the ball that took the outside edge of Anamul Haque Bijoy's bat. The ball was dying on Sharma and it went on to hit his thumb. The Indian captain was in discomfort immediately. There was blood on his left palm even as Rohit walked off the field grimacing in pain.

According to the update from the Indian Cricket Board, the right-hander has gone for the scans.

"India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The Indian Cricket Board Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans," said the Indian Cricket Board in a statement.

Rohit Sharma is unlikely to play further in this game as of now

At the time of writing, KL Rahul is leading the team. On the other hand, Sharma hasn't returned to the field which could mean the injury is serious and he might not play any further in the game.
