The official statement from the club read: "Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well in the future. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch."

After that, Ronaldo also issued a statement. “Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early. I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future." Cristiano Ronaldo concluded.

However, in recent days, reports came out that Ronaldo can join the Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr after the World Cup. Now, reports have come out that Cristiano Ronaldo is going to join that club on 1 January. As per recent reports, the Portuguese superstar will become the highest-paid athlete in the world after signing for that club. He is going to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Pro League side. Reports also suggested that Ronaldo is going to earn around €200 million per season at the Saudi Arabian club.
