Both Pakistan and India are currently busy playing the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. However, on 6 November, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in Adelaide in their last game of the group stage. On the other hand, India will also take on Zimbabwe At the MCG. But, before these two games, South Africa took on the Netherlands.

It was a must-win clash for the Proteas as they needed a win to seal their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament. Speaking about the match, Temba Bavuma won the toss and asked the Dutch to bat first. For the Netherlands, Max O’Dowd and Stephan Myburgh came out to open the innings.

The Netherlands scored 158 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Both openers managed a solid partnership of 58 runs in 8.3 overs. Tom Cooper scored 35 runs off 19 balls, including two fours and two sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 184.21. Then, Colin Ackermann scored 41* runs off 26 balls, including three fours and two sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 157.69. For the Proteas, Keshav Maharaj was the star as he took two wickets by conceding 27 runs. For South Africa, all batters failed miserably as they failed to chase down tha target.

They managed only 145 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. For the Dutch, Brandon Glover took three wickets for nine runs in his two overs. Only Rilee Rossouw scored 25 runs off 19 balls, including 131.57. Thus, the Netherlands defeated the Proteas by 13 runs. With this loss, South Africa suffered a shocking defeat and it confirmed their elimination from this year’s World Cup. After that loss, Pakistan fans were over the moon as their team now can qualify for the semi-finals by defeating Bangladesh.
