Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth has seen a fair share of success in his playing days. He took the dramatic catch of Misbah ul Haq, which helped India win the 2007 T20 World Cup. He was also a part of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup.

Talking about India's failure to win a World Cup since 2011, Sreesanth stated that he could have helped India win it three times if he had played under Virat Kohli's captaincy. "If I would have been a part of the team under Virat’s captaincy, India would have won the World Cup in 2015, 2019 & 2021," he told CricChat.

While Virat Kohli led the team in the 2019 World Cup and the 2021 T20 World Cup, he did captain India in the 2015 World Cup. Former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni was the captain of the event held in Australia in 2015.

Sreesanth also recalled being with Sachin Tendulkar as he carried the World Cup, and how Tendulkar felt emotional as a result of these successes and his ambitions of seeing India win. "We won that World Cup for Sachin Tendulkar," he said.

Sreesanth also talked about how he learned to bowl yorkers throughout his cricket career. "It is critical to visualize while playing, and small regions make no difference. Given the distractions, it is preferable to learn such tricks here. I learned how to throw yorkers with tennis balls from my coach. If you ask (Jasprit) Bumrah, he will tell you that it is also simple," he said.

Sreesanth's ban from Cricket

The 39-year-old was banned from playing cricket for alleged spot-fixing during the Indian T20 League. After nine years of perseverance, he made an emotional return to first-class cricket. However, he was unable to achieve his ambition of making a comeback to the Indian team, and he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in March 2022.

He played for Kerela in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ranji Trophy after his comeback. However, he could not make a comeback for India.
