The list of the players registered in the Indian T20 League's (ITL) mega auction has been released by the BCCI. Former Indian pacer, S Sreesanth is also among 1214 registered players. Sreesanth has registered for a base price of INR 50 Lakh.

Sreesanth last played for Rajasthan in the ITL 2013, before he was banned by the BCCI in September 2013 for involvement in an alleged spot-fixing scandal. The life ban was reduced to seven years in 2019 by the supreme court. The Kerela player was allowed to play professional cricket from September 2020. He made his comeback in the sport for Kerala in the Vijay Hazare trophy 2020-21 season, wherein he picked 13 wickets in six matches.

Sreesanth, interestingly also registered himself for the auctions held in 2021, but failed to make it to the final list. As reported by ESPNcricinfo, the pacer has made it to the final cut of players.

Before the ban, Sreesanth played a total of 44 matches for three different teams. He was a part of teams from Punjab, Kochi, and Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, among the 1214 players, 896 players are from India, while the remaining 318 players are from overseas.  33 players have been retained/picked ahead of the player auction. The existing eight ITL franchises have retained a total of 27 players, while the 2 new ITL teams have picked three players each ahead of the auction. If the franchises are allowed to pick 25 players, a maximum of 217 players will be picked up in the auction. These numbers also include 70 overseas players.

The two-day mega auction is set to be held on the 12th and 13th of February in Bangalore.
