Former India batter and currently the commentator, Aakash Chopra came up with a critical stance on the pitch at the Port of Spain in Trinidad during the second Test between West Indies and India. Chopra took to his official Twitter to post a tweet criticizing the flat surfaces and termed them as an ‘enemy’ of the traditional format of cricket.

“Flat-dead pitches are the biggest enemy of Test cricket,” read the tweet posted by Aakash Chopra on his official Twitter handle. Although this tweet from Aakash Chopra drew a lot of different reactions in the comment section of his tweet. Fans also took a dig at Chopra asking him if he wants a Test match to end in 2-3 days instead of all five days.

India, with an upper hand in 2nd Test

Speaking of the action of the match at the Port of Spain in Trinidad after the end of day 3, the hosts West Indies had scored 229 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Alick Athanaze and Jason Holder were there in the middle on the individual scores of 37 and 11 runs respectively.

Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had scalped two wickets by the time of stumps on the third day of the match. Other than him, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, and debutant Mukesh Kumar also claimed one wicket each.

Earlier in the first innings, India posted a total of 438 runs courtesy of four half-centuries and a century in the batting lineup. The opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched a partnership of 139 runs for the first wicket. Rohit and Jaiswal played the individual knocks of 80 and 57 runs respectively.

Former skipper and batting superstar, Virat Kohli smashed a crucial century for Team India and played a knock of 121 runs. It was also his Test career’s 29th century equalling former legendary Australian batter Sir Don Bradman’s record of 29 centuries. Kohli also becomes the first-ever cricketer in history to score a century in his 500th international appearance.
