Former India batter and currently the commentator, Aakash Chopra came up with a critical stance on the pitch at the Port of Spain in Trinidad during the second Test between West Indies and India. Chopra took to his official Twitter to post a tweet criticizing the flat surfaces and termed them as an ‘enemy’ of the traditional format of cricket.
“Flat-dead pitches are the biggest enemy of Test cricket,” read the tweet posted by Aakash Chopra on his official Twitter handle. Although this tweet from Aakash Chopra drew a lot of different reactions in the comment section of his tweet. Fans also took a dig at Chopra asking him if he wants a Test match to end in 2-3 days instead of all five days.
Here’s how fans reacted:
Sab match 3 din me thodi khatam karne h sir... let them score ..if they score 400 plus then it will be exciting

If bowlers can’t take wickets it’s flat wicket😂

No I think no one wants 2 days match of test cricket 🤝

It's not that flat as India got all out on same pitch where as WI batsmen are playing risk free cricket with strike rate of 17, this match has been boring except Virat's hundred.

Even if there is a turning track it pain you, as happened in India Australia BGT, and if flat pitch then you need win, then either look at Virat's century, or look at Ashwin's wickets... you can see only one thing. 😃 @vikrantgupta73 @sports_tak

Just need little application by West Indies to play one innings well and they will save this test.

Also the spinning track of India..
— Vibek (@vibek_ag) July 23, 2023
Yes it's a flat pitch but what you said is not completely true atleast in test matches where there is some gap between both teams.Let the batters get some runs & gain confidence. Why always give slow turning or hard & grassy pitches to help bowlers.Batters also deserve something.

Still Shubhman gill, ishan kishan and ajinkya rahane made this pitch looks like an overcast Lord’s wicket. There are decent players like samson, gaikwad, sarfaraz waiting for their turn who would have killed to make a debut on this dead wicket but then they arent captain’s fav
