'Sabse inconsistent team hai dono' - Fans rejoice as Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Punjab Kings by considerable margin in IPL 2023

In the 26th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, Punjab Kings hosted Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mohali. While the home team, Punjab was looking to extend their winning momentum, the RCB was looking to get back to their winning ways. Meanwhile, in the first game of the doubleheader on April 20, the home team won the toss and elected to bowl first.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli led the team for the first time after the 2021 season. Apparently, the regular skipper Faf du Plessis picked up an injury during the Chennai Super Kings game. Even though he didn't rest for the game, he was set to be replaced with an impact sub during the game. Meanwhile, with the bat, the visitors had a great start with Kohli and Du Plessis putting together 137 runs for the first wicket.

Thanks to this, RCB ended up getting 174/4 with the wicket getting difficult to bat against the older ball.

Early wickets hurt Punjab Kings in the chase

In reply, the 2014 finalists had a poor start with the bat. They lost the wicket of Atharva Taide in the first over. However, this was just the beginning of the problems for the Mohali-based team. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Also, the RCB's fielding also created problems for the PBKS.

One run out each from Mohammed Siraj and Wanindu Hasaranga apart from picking wickets also helped their team. Prabhsimran Singh (46), who replaced Rahul Chahar as an impact sub, made some impact and kept the innings together from his end. After his wicket to Wayne Parnell, Jitesh Sharma (41) tried well to win the game for the team. However, the lack of support from other did him in.

The Red Army lost the game by 25 runs.
