The two most popular cricketing names in India without a doubt are Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Growing up, many dreamed of sharing the dressing room with Sachin, but only a few got that chance. Virat Kohli is one of the lucky few. There have been many assumptions if Virat can break the humungous records that Sachin set. Often the fans are busy comparing the two stalwarts of Indian cricket.
Tendulkar was recently asked about his views on the same debate and the veteran had the perfect reply to it. Speaking to Graham Bensinger during an interview, Sachin said, 'How about having both of us in one team?'
Virat has also humbly answered this question every time he came across one. In one of the older interviews, Virat had said that it is not fair to compare him with Sachin as the legend was the most complete better and Virat doesn't see him anyway near Sachin.
"You can only compare those who are worthy of the comparison. You are comparing me to someone because of whom I started playing cricket in the first place. I stand no chance in terms of skill level. He's the most complete batsman ever. Then how can you even compare?
"I've always said it's not fair to him. Because of what he's given us, he doesn't deserve to be compared to us. This generation, no chance," Kohli had said on Breakfast with Champions'
Sachin Tendulkar had also recalled an incident where Virat Kohli presented him with a gift that was very close to his heart. This was right after Sachin Tendulkar played his last ball as an international cricketer. Tendulkar revealed that Virat Kohli had given him a sacred thread given to Virat by his father.
"So I was sitting in one corner alone with a towel on my head and wiping tears. I was really emotional and couldn't control my tears. Virat came to me at that time, and he gave me the sacred thread that his father had given him. I kept that for a while and returned it to him... told him it is priceless. This has to stay with you. This is yours and no one else's. You should have it till your last breath. And I gave it back to him. So that was an emotional moment... Something that will always be with me in my memory forever," Tendulkar told Bensinger,
