The third Test between India and South Africa is heading towards a cracking finish. Team India was bowled out for 198 and could only set a target of 212 for South Africa to win. Things could have been worse for India had Rishabh Pant not played a blinder. Walking in to bat after India lost back to back wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, Pant took to attack to South Africa, striking at a strike rate of 90 and helping India recover from the setbacks.
Pant's blazing knock helped Virat Kohli to take his time. Unfortunately, Kohli was dismissed for 29. Post his wicket, Indian batting crumbled with other batters unable to stay long enough at the wicket. Amidst the carnage, Pant looked solid and picked up runs with ease. He added crucial runs for India and fetched himself a brilliant century, his fourth in Test cricket. Pant remained unbeaten at 100 and gave India a defendable total.
Meanwhile, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar heaped praise on Pant after his heroic knock. "A simply outstanding knock by @RishabhPant17 at a crucial stage! Well done," wrote Sachin

VVS Laxman also took to Twitter and praised the southpaw. "He has scored Test tons in Australia and England before and this one in Cape Town is right up there with one of the best counter- attacking innings one would ever see. Has kept India in the game. Take a bow, #RishabhPant," he tweeted
