Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster of Indian cricket, is surprised at the fact that the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) had excluded Chris Gayle from the team till this point. Chris Gayle played his first game of IPL 2020 on Thursday. His team played against Royal Challengers Bangalore in match 31 of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Kings XI Punjab got an 8-wicket win over RCB after Chris Gayle and KL Rahul scored shining fifties in the match. Gayle played his first game in IPL 2020 after missing 7 matches.
Gayle quieted every one of his critics and indeed demonstrated what he is capable of with a bat in his hand by scoring fifty. He has got back from the hospital just a couple of days ago after suffering from food poisoning.
Sachin Tendulkar raises questions over side-lining Chris Gayle
After the game, the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar tweeted to communicate his pleasure over the performance of Gayle, and raised queries with regards to why he was sidelined out for such a long time.
“Good to see @henrygayle back and scoring a wonderful 53. Wonder what @lionsdenkxip were thinking by leaving him out all this while.”
This is the second game Kings XI Punjab has won out of the 8 matches they have played in the ongoing season of IPL. Being last in the IPL points table currently, KXIP needs to win all the games remaining to enter the knockout stages. With only 4 points in their bag, they are hoping that the inclusion of Chris Gayle will turn as positive for the side. And of course, Chris Gayle’s half-century on Thursday is the proof that KXIP can do well.
