Sam Curran is likely to miss the upcoming third Test against India in Ahmedabad. The England all-rounder was supposed to travel along with Jonny Bairstow and Mark Wood this week. However, the ECB decided to rest the 22-year-old cricketer.

All three players were expected to begin a 6-day quarantine upon arrival on Friday. This would have allowed them to be available for selection. They were all rested for the first two matches as a part of the rotation policy that England is following. The all-rounder will join the squad next week, and will be available for the fourth Test in Ahmedabad.

The English Cricket Board has been very cautious with the management of their cricketers considering the bio-secure bubbles. This includes regular check-ups on the cricketers' mental health, including Sam Curran, Tom Curran, and teammate Tom Banton.

Virat Kohli and Co. dominate second Test

After the hosts registering 329 in the first innings of the second Test, Indian bowlers dismantled the English batting line-up with Ravichandran Ashwin once again leading the attack. The Indian team bowled out England for merely 134 runs. Dom Sibley, Daniel Lawrence, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone, and Stuart Broad were Ashwin's wickets on Day Two of the second Test. Debutant all-rounder Axar Patel also had a majestic start to his Test career as he picked up captain Joe Root and Moeen Ali's wickets. Ben Foakes was the top-scorer for the visitors with 42 runs. India is now leading by 339 runs with Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin still on the crease.
