I am excited to join the Knight Riders family: Sandeep Lamichhane

Sandeep Lamichhane has featured in 21 matches in the CPL so far. In those games, he has picked up 27 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 5.80. The forthcoming CPL is going to be his fourth stint in the T20 league after making his debut back in 2018. The spinner has previously represented St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Barbados Tridents, and Jamaica Tallawahs. The 20-year-old is now excited to join the Knight Riders family and looking forward to representing the defending CPL champions.

The year 2020 remains to be the most successful as he scalped 12 wickets from 11 matches at an economy rate of 5.27. The Knight Riders are going to be his fourth franchise. The youngster will join Sunil Narine, Khary Pierre, and Akeal Hosein in the spin department. In 101 T20I games thus far, the 20-year-old has claimed 138 wickets which also includes three four-wicket hauls. However, it remains to be seen if the youngster gets a chance in the playing eleven as the team already has some of the best spinners in the West Indies cricket fraternity.

Sandeep last played a match during the Nepal tri-nation series against Malaysia and the Netherlands. In the series, he picked up 13 wickets in five games. His best figures were 4 for 48 against the Dutch. The young spinner played a crucial role in Nepal winning the series. They defeated the Netherlands in the final. Meanwhile, the Knight Riders have retained 12 players ahead of the players' draft, which will occur on May 26. The Knight Riders have also traded in Denesh Ramdin from St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Denesh Ramdin played one CPL season for the Patriots before returning to TKR.
