Sandeep Lamichhane, the leg-spinner of Nepal, has tested positive for COVID-19. The star cricketer has confirmed the news on Friday, November 27. Lamichhane posted the update on Twitter. His fans have recently seen him in the thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League in the UAE.

In his Twitter post, Sandeep Lamichhane assured his fans that he is recovering well now. He has urged his well-wishers to keep praying for his health.

“Hi Everyone, Greetings to all. It's my sincere duty to tell you all that I have been tested positive for COVID-19,” he wrote on Twitter.

“I had some body aches since Wednesday. But my health is improving a little bit now. If all goes well, I will return to the field again. Keep me in your prayers,” he added.

Sandeep Lamichhane has given great performance in BBL

Sandeep Lamichhane is the first player from Nepal to get an entry in IPL. During the IPL 2020, he has been a part of the Delhi Capitals but didn't play any game. During the 2018 and 2019 IPL seasons, Sandeep Lamichhane had played 3 and 6 games respectively.

After IPL, the 20-year old Nepalese star is gearing up to participate in the upcoming season of the Big Bash League. BBL franchise Hobart Hurricanes has roped him in the team earlier this month. It is not the first time the Nepal cricketer is playing in the BBL. During the last two seasons, Lamichhane played for Melbourne Stars.

Lamichhane has given a great performance in the Australian T20 competition. He had a great partnership with Adam Zampa when playing for his former side, Melbourne Stars. He has picked up 26 wickets in the previous two seasons of the BBL tournament at an average of 19.80. He has played 20 matches so far in the tournament. BBL is scheduled to start on December 10.
