The Rajasthan team captain, Sanju Samson, has had a fantastic run in the Indian T20 League 2022 so far. The 2008-champions have been very consistent as they find themselves in the top half of the points table. However, they lost their lost their last two games against Mumbai and Kolkata respectively.
While drawing light on India's tour to New Zealand in 2020, Samson revealed that Rohit Sharma made him feel comfortable during his comeback to the Indian team. He said that the then vice-captain asked him to join him for dinner and helped him gel up with the team. He said that he was unsure who to approach and who to talk to.
"I remember I was in NZ, Rohit Sharma bhai was there, Virat Kohli bhai was there. You don't know who to Approach, who to talk to, what to say, Rohit Bhai then came & said, come on, let's go have dinner. I said oh okey sure let's go bhaiya. It was very nice of him," he said while speaking to Gaurav Kapoor on his YouTube show 'Breakfast with Champions'.
Samson also praised India's current head coach, Rahul Dravid. When Dravid was coaching the Rajasthan franchise, Samson worked closely with him. He stated that the Dravid respects everyone equally, regardless of their profile.
"The best quality of Rahul Dravid is that he will talk to the owner of Rajasthan in the same manner and he will talk to the groundsman in the same manner- I will be like ‘How can you do it," Samson said.
In the Meanwhile, Samson scored a half-century against Kolkata on Monday. They have played 10 games in the season, and have won six out of them. Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal have been the best players of the team. They presently wear the Orange and Purple Cap respectively. Buttler has scored 588 runs in 10 games, while Chahal has taken 19 wickets.
Rajasthan will play their next game against Punjab on the 7th of May at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
