Team India completed their schedule in 2022 after playing the ODI and Test series in Bangladesh. The Men in Blue failed to win the 20-20 World Cup after losing against England in the semi-final. After that, they won the T20I series while losing the ODI series against the Kiwis in New Zealand. Then, they had another poor show in the three-match ODI series in Bangladesh.
Team India lost that series by 2-1. But, they managed to win the two-match Test series by 2-0 in order to strengthen their chances to get qualified for the final of the World Test Championship. Now, they will be in action again in January 2023 in a three-match ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka at home.
Fans went berserk after not seeing Sanju Samson in the ODI squad against Sri Lanka
After recent performances and as per some reports, fans were hoping to see Sanju Samson both in the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, the previous selection committee again chose the squads as the new committee is yet to get selected. Sanju Samson was a part of the team India squad in both the ODI and T20I series in New Zealand.
But, he got to play only one ODI match where he scored 36 runs off 38 balls. So fans were not happy with the team management as they gave so much limited opportunity to the wicketkeeper batter. But, fans were not happy when the Indian Cricket Board announced the teams for both the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka. They selected him for the T20I series but did not consider him for the ODI series.
